How did you begin Blogging?
I currently work for a very corporate field, in which there is not too much room for creativity. I have long been interested in beauty, health, wellness, skincare, fitness, makeup, you name it. I wanted a place where I could attempt to corral, if you will, all of the things I am learning/doing/discovering on a daily basis. You will also see posts about daily lifestyle moments: things I am reading, listening to, shopping, and much more!
Do you have any experience in this field?
No, but I wish! It is my dream (hopefully soon) to work for some sort of beauty/wellness/fitness media outlet, so that I can begin to create public content for a large organization. My current experience only stems from my own reading of different blogs (since my senior year of high school-- I am now 24) and really developing a keen love for all of the different content that bloggers, beauty influencers, fitness gurus, wellness experts, etc. are producing.
Not actually an FAQ, just what I always want to know from other bloggers: what are you currently reading, listening to, watching right now?
Ok I love love love podcasts. My current favorites usually revolve around true crime! I am obsessed with My Favorite Murder and 48 hours. Fun fact about me I love anything true crime related. I have watched every single episode ever made of Law and Order SVU. I also love LadyLovin as well as Fat Mascara for beauty. I just recently finished The Nest by Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney, and I would give it a 6/10. My boyfriend and I just finished Ray Donovan on Showtime, which I adored. I also always watch SVU, Chicago PD, and every Real Housewives of any city ever made. I am obsessed.
What are your favorite blogs?
Oh man this is a seriously tough one, but I would have to say: The Stripe, Into The Gloss, Refinery29, Popsugar, Cup of Jo, Sequins and Stripes, and Thirteenthoughts. I have a billion others that I read daily, but these are the first few that I always read.
Favorite Ways to Build my health and wellness
So since this past October 2016, I have been a TIU member! I love Tone It Up so much. After I had graduated college, and lets be honest, during my entire senior year, I was not that focused on my health and fitness, or maybe I was sort of focused on the fitness part, but I was never eating well, and drinking too much beer than I will ever admit! I now try and meal prep as much as I can, eat what actually makes my body feel good, I usually don't drink during the week, and I try and do some form of excercise about 6 days a week (emphasis on try). Overall, I am so much more knowledgeable about my entire wellbeing, and take my self care veeeerrry seriously. I once read a great quote on A Cup of Jo, "treat yourself gently" and that has stuck with me.
Favorite skincare/makeup products:
I love my DCL Skincare C Scape Enzymatic Gel Cleanser, which I use day and night. I also use the DCL Super Sheer Sunscreen SPF 50 as my daytime moisturizer, but I would really lover to try Glossier's new sunscreen!
I love a good sheet mask and currently have quite the collection, I literally hoard them.
For makeup, I love learning new tips and tricks and really am in love with all things makeup/fragrance/hair as well. I love watching Teni Panosian's Youtube Channel to learn new looks! I am obsessed with my Nars Laguna and Orgasm duo (oldie but a goodie) and my current favorite mascara is Diorshow Overcurl!
