A Bit on Combatting Problem Skin
I have been stuck in a bit of a rut lately, creativity as well as skin wise. I have had a lack of ideas for what to take photos of! So frustrating. I am really having such problems with my skin lately as well, and I feel like the changes I am (trying) to make are not paying off as much as I would like them to.
I have tried to get off dairy as much as possible-- but I definitely slip up here and there. I have also tried to get off of caffeine and have switched to decaf coffee in the mornings, so as to not completely lose my morning coffee ritual. I have now read and heard multiple times that both of those things can help clear skin from within, which I absolutely believe in. Also, does anyone know if certain types of alcohol or alcohol in general can affect skin?? I would be curious to know.
So, in my never ending pursuit of having clear skin, I tried the new Tata Harper clarifying mask yesterday! I love how it is green, it feels grainy like a sandy thick texture which I love, because it feels super exfoliating. It felt great on my skin, and definitely calmed the redness down. This morning I woke up with a few new blemishes (whiteheads) which are not as common for me, but I don't know if that was the cause. I would guess not.
But, my only problem (ha only, as if) is the fact that I am stillllll having new cysts pop up daily! I really do try to be dairy free, and I have been popping on my favorite Renee Rouleau anti cyst treatment -- seriously if you have cystic acne and you don't have this: get it. I am literally not sure what else to do! I am not at a point where I want to go on accutane, even after hearing great things-- I just do not think it's for me. I just read a review/suggestion regarding the Eminence Organics Eight Greens Phyto Mask and I am absolutely about to purchase. BTW I am sure you can get it cheaper than on dermstore, that was just the first link I found.
Now, onto better things: some links I have been reading and loving:
- As someone who's face was virtually melting off today, I definitely want to try one of these.
- I think I might love books as much as I love beauty and I am obsessed with reading Grace's monthly reading lists. Alwaysssss adding some to my goodreads profile!
I am in love with all of Meg's content, but her beauty colums are some of my absolute favorites! This was such a great read-- loved how she interviewed women with all different skin types.
Ok based on my last post, you know how much I love self care. Paula's take on her routine and why you need one was, as usual, a great read!
